Things can survive down there through simple adaptation. They say life started in the ocean, so it's not inconceivable that lifeforms have adaptations to help them survive in The Challenger Deep.

The things that live in the abyssal zone produce their own light, such as the ripper fish. They attract prey. Most things that live in the dark like that are blind or have no eyes at all.
